Missing Safari thumbnail views on iPad iOS 5

After I upgraded my iPad 2 to iOS 5.0.1, I note that Safari is missing the thumbnail view icon in either portrait or landscape. But I can get thumbnails in iOS 4.2 version. Is there a way to bring back website thumbnails? I hate using the tabs in safafi. I can't remember so many Safari Tab clutter with page titles.
