When I Airplay my iPod music from my iPad 2 to my Apple TV 2, I will get pausing issues. I get sporadic skipping while using pandora, slacker, and iPod music.
On your Home screen, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. That may fix the issue.
